CGTET 2026 Detailed Syllabus
Paper I Syllabus: Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)
Total Marks: 150 | All 5 Sections are Compulsory
1. Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Marks)
- Introduction: Concept of development, stages (Prenatal to Adolescence), Physical, Cognitive, and Social development.
- Dimensions: Motor development, Emotional & Moral development.
- Learning Theories: Piaget, Kohlberg, Vygotsky, Behavioral theories.
- Special Needs (CWSN): Inclusive education, Learning disabilities.
2. Language I – Hindi (30 Marks)
- वर्ण विचार: स्वर, व्यंजन, वर्तनी, लिंग, वचन, काल.
- शब्द रचना: तत्सम, तद्भव, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, संधि, समास.
- पद भेद: संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया.
- Pedagogy: भाषाई कौशल विकास (SRW), उपचारात्मक शिक्षण (Remedial Teaching).
3. Language II – English (30 Marks)
- Comprehension: Two unseen passages with grammar questions.
- Grammar: Tenses, Voice, Narration, Parts of Speech, Vocabulary.
- Pedagogy: Principles of language teaching, Challenges in diverse classrooms, Learning vs. Acquisition.
4. Mathematics (30 Marks)
- Number System: Decimal system, BODMAS, LCM & HCF, Square Root.
- Arithmetic: Average, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest.
- Measurement & Geometry: Speed, Time & Distance, Area, Volume, Basic 2D Shapes.
- Pedagogy: Nature of Math, Logic, Evaluation methods.
5. Environmental Studies (EVS) (30 Marks)
- Environment: Family (Nuclear/Joint), Social Evils, Ecology.
- Health: Body care, Balanced diet, Common diseases (Malaria, Dengue).
- Pedagogy: Scope of EVS, Integrated EVS, Environmental Education.
Paper II Syllabus: Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8)
Total Marks: 150 | First 3 Sections Compulsory + Choose Section 4A or 4B
1. Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Marks)
- Focus on psychology of 11–14 year olds.
- Topics: Inclusive Education, Understanding diverse learners, Motivation and Learning.
2. Languages (Hindi & English) (30+30 Marks)
- Higher difficulty level (up to Class 12th standard).
- Advanced Grammar, Comprehension, and Pedagogy.
3. Subject Specific (Choose One) (60 Marks)
Option A: Mathematics & Science
- Maths (30): Algebra, Indices, Ratio & Proportion, Geometry (Circle, Triangles), Mensuration (3D shapes), Statistics.
- Science (30): Force, Motion, Light, Sound, Electricity, Magnetism, Structure of Matter, Acids/Bases, Living World.
Option B: Social Science
- History: Maurya & Gupta Empires, Mughal Dynasty, British Period, Indian Freedom Struggle.
- Civics: Indian Constitution, Parliament, Judiciary.
- Geography: Earth, Resources, Agriculture.
- CG Special: Chhattisgarh Geography, History, Culture, Tribes & Tourism.

How to Apply — Step-by-Step

2. Registration
Enter your Name, Mobile Number, and Email. Verify using the OTP sent to your mobile.
3. Fill Application Form
- Select Exam: Paper 1, Paper 2, or Both.
- Upload Scanned Photo (40kb-60kb) and Signature (20kb-40kb).
- Select Exam City.
4. Fee Payment & Print
Pay the exam fee online (UPI/Card/Net Banking). Always save the Application Receipt PDF for future reference.
