हे प्रभु तेरे जग का खेल निराला है
— The Unique Play of the Lord —
हे प्रभु तेरे जग का खेल निराला है
जिसने तुझसे नाता जोड़ना चाहा है,
उसे तूने सच्चाई की अग्नि में जलाया है।
सच में, तेरे जग का खेल बड़ा निराला है।
"O Lord, mysterious are the ways of Your world.
Whoever sought to bond their soul with You,
Has been tested in the fierce fire of truth."
जितने भी तेरे सच्चे भक्त हुए हैं,
उतने ही उन्होंने कष्ट सहे हैं।
तेरा भक्त प्रहलाद कितना सच्चा था,
भक्ति के कारण ही जिसे होलिका ने जलाया था।
पर देखो, जल गया वो—जो उसे जलाने वाला था,
हे प्रभु! तेरे न्याय का खेल निराला था।
"Every true devotee has walked a path of pain.
Like Prahlad, whose faith was pure and deep,
Was cast into fire while the world did sleep.
Yet, the one who tried to burn him turned to ash,
Such is Your divine justice, in a flash."
जब तक भक्त को कष्ट मिलता नहीं,
तब तक वो कुंदन सा खिलता नहीं।
वाह ऊपर वाले! क्या तेरी माया,
तेरा खेल आज तक कोई समझ न पाया।
जो औरों का भला सोचे, वही संकट में पड़ जाए,
जो न समझे अपनों का दर्द, उन्हें कौन समझाए?
"Until a devotee is tested by pain,
Their true devotion does not truly reign.
Oh Lord! Your illusion is beyond comprehension,
The kind-hearted suffer, causing such tension."
कुछ लोग दिखावे में गुज़ारते हैं जीवन,
दिल में पाप, पर हाथ में रखते हैं सुमिरन।
हे प्रभु तेरे जग का खेल निराला है...
"Some spend their lives in a masquerade,
With sin in their hearts, while prayers are said.
O Lord, Your world is truly strange."
मैंने महसूस किया है लोगों का वो दर्द,
सताए जाते हैं जो, कोई न जाने उनका मर्म।
हे प्रभु! किस मिट्टी से तूने गढ़ा इंसान को?
जो बस देखता है अपने झूठे मान-सम्मान को।
आकर इस जग में, सब भूल गए हैं तुझे,
तू ही जाने, तूने कैसे संभाला है मुझे।
"I have felt the silent pain they hide,
Tormented souls with nowhere to confide.
Coming to this world, we have forgotten Your grace,
Only You know how You sustain this place."

भावार्थ (Meaning)
यह कविता ईश्वर के विचित्र न्याय और संसार की विडंबना को दर्शाती है। कवि कहते हैं कि ईश्वर अपने सच्चे भक्तों की परीक्षा कठिन परिस्थितियों से लेते हैं (जैसे भक्त प्रहलाद)। आज के युग में जो दिखावा करते हैं वे सुखी दिखते हैं, जबकि सच्चे और परोपकारी लोग कष्ट पाते हैं। फिर भी, अंत में ईश्वर की सत्ता ही सर्वोपरि है।
