"The Kamar Chhath (Hal Sasthi) festival is approaching, sister, and it brings me great joy. It is a festival for our daughters and sons, and I feel so happy about it."
बेटी-बेटा के खातिर रहिबो उपास (२)
अपन दुख पीरा कहिबो प्रभु के पास (२)
बने रखबे मोर घर संसार---दीदी ओ--
"I will fast for the sake of my sons and daughters. I will share my pain and sorrows with the Lord. Oh sister, may God keep my home and family safe and prosperous."
सगरी बनागे के हमन, पानी ल चढाबो (२)
नारियर फूल पान, भोले बबा म चढाबो (२)
फेर कहानी सुनबो मन विचार--दीदी ओ--
"We will make a small pond (Sagari) and offer water. We will offer coconuts, flowers, and betel leaves to Lord Shiva (Bhole Baba). Then, with devotion, we will listen to the traditional story."
छै किसिम के भाजी, टोरबो निमारबो (२)
लाई, अउ मौहा ल, भोग तोर लगाबो (२)
संग म चना ल देबो हमन डार--दीदी ओ--
"We will pluck and clean six types of leafy vegetables (Bhaji). We will offer Lai (puffed rice) and Mahua flowers to You. Along with that, we will add black gram (Chana)."
तेंदू के पतरी, भैंसी के दूध दही (२)
सगरी कस गहिर मति रखहू बही (२)
भाईचारा के राखहू सब बिचार--दीदी ओ--
"Using Tendu leaves as plates, and offering buffalo milk and curd... Do not let your mind be reckless deep like the pond. Everyone should keep thoughts of brotherhood and unity."
बेटी-बेटा, देबे तेहा, मोर कोरा (२)
तोला चढ़ाहूँ, मेंहा नरियर जोड़ा (२)
मोरो जिनगी म आ जाए बहार--दीदी ओ--
"Oh Lord, bless my lap with sons and daughters. I will offer you a pair of coconuts. May spring (happiness) come into my life."
पिंवरी छुही के पोता, लइका ल लगाबो (२)
बैरी दुश्मन के नजर ले, वोला बचाबो (२)
मनभरहा हमन देबोंन, या दुलार--दीदी ओ--
"We will apply a mark of yellow clay (Pivari/Chhuhi) on the children. We will protect them from the evil eye of enemies. We will give them our love to our heart's content."
